and finally, some closeups of background characters i made. they're all painted, and some are animated either by hand (like the lady who turns around or the walking man) or by cheap after-effects stuff:

Pneumochill- Final film and Post-mortem
Finished! For about a month now. Finally got around to posting here:
here are some sheets I made a while back, showing reference, concept art, textures and models:

All in all, this project was massively fun. My only regret is that I cut the whole fight scene, and if I had known that I would have done that from the beginning, I could have optimised the rest of my workflow better (I ended up modeling and rigging all sorts of extra stuff, like trains and breakable fences and such)

Another Film Update
Things have been really challenging to gel together lately, but this is what 'Pneumochill' looks like currently.
Though I tried to buff up on rigging experience over the summer, I've learned a great deal on this current model. Due to some unforseen....explosions, I ended up having to strip out all the rigging save for the face, destroying all the animation I did up until this point. I'm currently working on animation and lighting, which I would consider much more fun to do.
That deadline is mighty scary to think about...

Film Update
I'm very exited about all the new developments within my film. It's going to be a challenge to finish it on time at the quality I'm aiming for.
Here's a render of my final character:

Film Updates
Happy new year! and happy final semester too. I thought it was time to start posting film stuff, so here are some work-in-progress pics:
My character, Monk. He'll have eyelids in the film. Also, I'll need to flourish the textures before I'm happy with them.
The setting. I photoshopped some effects on top. I'm going to add more colour cvariation and signs of life in the final.
I'm SO exited to finish rigging and start work on the animation for the coming semester. Wish me luck!

Zbrush Doodle
3D class has been consistantly fun. I did this a few weeks ago- my first forray into ZBrush:
I also included a paintover- it's fun to flip back and forth!

Landscapes
Lately, I've been doing some pencil layout work in my sketchbook. from here, I'm going to put a stronger effort on tonal contrast, and include some less organic stuff. I'm really exited about continuing with that last pic on the end there- how its like a pool of properly exposed subject matter against a blown out background...
More film stuff to come soon, I hope
