Finished! For about a month now. Finally got around to posting here:
here are some sheets I made a while back, showing reference, concept art, textures and models:
and finally, some closeups of background characters i made. they're all painted, and some are animated either by hand (like the lady who turns around or the walking man) or by cheap after-effects stuff:
All in all, this project was massively fun. My only regret is that I cut the whole fight scene, and if I had known that I would have done that from the beginning, I could have optimised the rest of my workflow better (I ended up modeling and rigging all sorts of extra stuff, like trains and breakable fences and such)
School is nearly over and my film is complete! I’ll be doing a proper post-mortem soon, but in the meantime, I thought I’d post a few things I made during production.
Things have been really challenging to gel together lately, but this is what 'Pneumochill' looks like currently.
Though
I tried to buff up on rigging experience over the summer, I've learned a
great deal on this current model. Due to some unforseen....explosions, I ended up having to strip out all
the rigging save for the face, destroying all the animation I did up
until this point. I'm currently working on animation and lighting, which
I would consider much more fun to do.
That deadline is mighty scary to think about...
I'm very exited about all the new developments within my film. It's going to be a challenge to finish it on time at the quality I'm aiming for.
Here's a render of my final character:
